Who are we looking for?


Please note, this role is not fully remote, you would need to be based or reliably commute to Lancaster.



We are on the lookout for a Web Developer who will be responsible for the development, enhancement, and support of our internal and external Database Management Systems. Ideally, you have:
  • Proven background working with PHP with a focus on MVC frameworks (such as Laravel, Symfony, or CodeIgniter), in an Agile development environment.
  • Solid knowledge of LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) stack.
  • Proficient in JavaScript for front-end development, with the ability to write SQL queries for data extraction, analysis, and reporting.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to work with a team and follow project timelines.
  • Familiarity with .NET Core, showcasing your adaptability and potential contributions to future service migrations would be advantageous
  • Experience in maintaining DNS records for efficient web service management would be beneficial.

What will you be doing?


Reporting directly to the StarVale IT Manager, and as part of a well-established and close knit encouraging team, your remit will include:
  • Development, enhancement, and support of code for web applications.
  • Writing and optimization of SQL queries for data extraction, analysis, and reporting
  • Providing support for StarVale Systems & Users.
  • Teaming up with the development team to analyse requirements and design solutions
  • Participating in code reviews and contribute to the improvement of coding standards
  • Partnering with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deploy solutions that ensure data accuracy and consistency

Salary:

£30,000 - £40,000 per annum, depending on experience
